Daniel Stofner
I help clients and design partners turn ideas into spaces that are clear, atmospheric and buildable.
My work combines concept development, interior design, visualization, bespoke furniture and project direction. I work independently through Ousia Design and collaborate internationally on residential, hospitality and spatial projects.
Design begins with the right questions.
With a background in interior design and philosophy, I am interested in how spaces are perceived, used and remembered. My approach is not built around a fixed signature style, but around finding the spatial logic, material language and atmosphere that belong to each project.
Design practice informed by philosophy and execution.
Trained in interior design at the Florence Design Academy, I developed my practice through residential, hospitality and commercial projects in Italy and Switzerland, with a strong focus on concept development, visualization, custom furniture, technical design and project coordination.
Alongside design, my studies in philosophy continue to shape how I think about perception, meaning, experience and the relationship between people and space.
Independent direction with established delivery capacity.
I am a partner at Stofner Interior Design. For larger executions, complex project phases and tasks that require broader technical or implementation capacity, I work together with the Stofner team.
This allows Ousia Design to remain personal and flexible while connecting to an established interior-design structure when a project requires it.
Design knowledge should become more useful over time.
I am also the founder of Ousia Loop, an emerging platform exploring how AI-assisted analysis, human design judgement and accumulated project knowledge can support better interior-design workflows.
It is being developed as a separate project from Ousia Design, with the aim of connecting structured project information with the judgement of designers rather than replacing it.
Music & Art
Music and art are a quieter but important part of my creative practice. They remain separate from my interior-design work, but influence the way I think about rhythm, atmosphere, emotion and composition.
