1. Introduce your project
Share the location, current planning stage and your ideas. Existing plans, reference images and an indicative schedule and budget help define a useful starting point.
Interior design for private clients in Munich, Zurich and the Alps. Daniel Stofner develops spatial concepts, material palettes and individual interiors from South Tyrol.
Discuss your projectFor a new build, renovation or individual room, we start with how you want to live. Your plans and references help establish the atmosphere, practical needs and design direction for the project.
Depending on the brief, deliverables can include layout options, moodboards and a coordinated material and colour concept.
When a project is already underway but does not yet feel coherent, I review the spatial experience, furniture layouts, materials and connections between rooms. The review identifies unresolved design decisions.
This complements the work of your existing architects and specialist planners. We agree which areas to review and which changes to develop further.
Surfaces, lighting and furniture shape how a room feels. I develop material combinations and individual furniture concepts, with 3D visualisations where useful.
Visualisations help compare proportions and design options before execution. Technical details and feasibility are coordinated with the relevant trades.
Design and execution depend on clear responsibilities. Depending on the commission, I support technical design development and coordination with contractors and existing planning teams.
The scope, responsibilities and site visits are agreed for each project. Required specialist planning and statutory services remain with the appropriate professionals.
My base is South Tyrol. Having lived in Winterthur, I continue to work with projects in Zurich and German-speaking Switzerland, alongside Munich and the Alpine region. Collaboration takes place remotely and on site by arrangement. I work in German, Italian and English.

We define the task: a complete spatial concept, individual rooms, a design review or project support. Deliverables, fees and timing are agreed before work begins.
The design evolves in conversation with you. Depending on the brief, options, materials and details are developed with the planners and trades involved.
